Eleazar - Maybe you could ask those who are going to be in town to get together at one of our restaurants for lunch or dinner.  Phil and I will be in Seattle for the long week-end so I'll miss seeing you.  So nice that you want to get together.

It might be nice if we could plan an informal get together over festival week-end in August.  Lots going on then.  I think some of our classmates who haven't been too involved with the reunions show up for Mountain Festival.  I think Class of '70 has a reunion that week-end too.  We might plan to meet at the park.  There is food, drink and music.

If anyone is interested, I can post the details on the website.  Anyone interested?

I think that is a great idea Becky.  I haven't been to the festival in a long time - maybe we could be in the parade.  Wouldn't that be a kick?

Happy BD to Becky and Jackie.  The day is warm (comfortably so... so far), humid, and partly overcast... the is a wonderful calm in the air... praying for and SEEing help is on the way for everyone... SEEing our planet transform from one of darkness, danger, and fear to clarity, love, and beautiful, transparent LIGHT called JOY UNSPEAKABLE... won't you join me in BELIEVING miracles are possible!!!!!!!   We have the ability to SEE our dreams come true... after all,  WE found a way to  get back there to see each other after 40 years, right... and all it took was SEEing it was so.

Hope all of you are enjoying this Memorial Day. But lets not forget what today is about.
Lots of our soldiers have lost their lives in the name of freedom. Let's give them all a respectful thanks today and appreciate those who made it home.

Thanks to everyone for their sweet birthday wishes.  Wishes do come true - had a great birthday!!

Love you all!!

Thanks to all of our Vets and remember those who did not come home.  We came home from Seattle on Monday to find an American flag flying in our front yard - brought tears to my eyes.  One of our local organizations place flags around town on holidays.  What a treat !

I went to the coast for a few days to celebrate. Went to Chinook Winds Casino--Lots of fun!! I am going to the class of 70's reunion as a guest. Hope I see some of you around town. Too bad their reunion isn't the same weekend as the Festival.

Karen Van Westen Snider's Mother passed away on May 27.  I don't know how many of you knew her but she was a very memorable person.  Karen and I grew up in the same neighborhood and spent many hours at one another's house. I actually acquired my appreciation for wearing perfume everyday from Mrs. Van Westen.  I remember so vividly walking into their living room and smelling the aroma of her perfume which was always so nice.  I also came to love Frank Sinatra because of her.  I remember listening to "It Was a Very Good Year" over and over with Karen. If only I was older or Frank was younger  .

My deepest sympathy to Karen and her family.

FYI - Juanita C. does not have access to a computer so there is no way to send her birthday greetings.  But if you see her around town, be sure and wish her a happy birthday.

So sorry to hear about Lynda Newland Mathews.  I remember wishing I could be as confident as she was in school.  She always seemed to not let anything bother her.  Her and Larry's son went to school with Heidi from K-12.  My sympathy to him and his sister, it hurts to lose a mother, as so many of us know.

Just wanted everyone to know there was a nice article in the Fresno Bee about Ryan Mathews (related to Ken Perry) if you care to look it up.  Ryan played for Fresno State.  Thought you would enjoy this part ".....the ones who succeed (referring to Ryan), the difference between high school glory and becoming the starting running back for the San Diego Chargers, is unrelenting dedication.  Mathews found it.  He sacrificed the moments for the future."   Makes you kind of proud doesn't it?  Go Chargers!  :)

Speaking of proud parent moments - Nick Damian's son Jim was featured in an article in the Bakersfield Californian business section today.  He is co-owner of a successful company.  He is a terrific young man.  I'm sure Nick and Mary are very proud of him too.

Gotta love those proud parent moments!  Even though we are all proud parents, it is always fun to have it printed for all the world to see too.  Good work Nick and Mary.

My last name has been bringing me a bit of attention here is Fresno - I have had to show my ID in stores a few times since the article on Ryan Mathews ran and because I only have one "t" in my name also, I have been asked if we are related.  I haven't had the guts to say yes, because we're not, but I haven't hesitated to say I went to school with his uncle, knew his grandmother, and we were originally from the same town.  Hey, it's my few moments of fame, what can I say?  :)  It's been fun.

I know how you feel Donna about Ryan.  Even way up here in Oregon, my two older girls (Randy's) are having their friends asking about their cousin Ryan.  I have the cutest picture of Ryan and Joan Perry's son William at my house from a LONG time ago.  I will have to dig that picture out--might be worth something someday LOL.  A bunch of our family is going up to Seattle to see him play against the Seattle Seahawks--go Chargers!!!!

I had forgotten Connie, that you are "related" - that's so much closer than a last name!  :)  What fun to get to see Ryan play.  Never been a football fan, but I think I will watch a Charger game or two now.

I hope all you 60 somethingers are up for a party next year.  My venue vote is for VEGAS, but I'll be there regardless!

I think a 60's party would be great!  The Mountain Festival would be good.  Tim and I keep saying we're going to the Festival, but something always prevents it, maybe we would try harder if a 60's party were at the same time.
